Subject merupakan bentuk pelaku ataupun ataupun penyebab dari suatu hal terjadi
- Noun: book, car, people
- Pronoun: they, we, i, you, he, nothing
- Noun Phrase: the beautiful girl
- Noun clause
- Gerund: (Ving): i like singing
Contoh:
- I have 2 brothers and 4 sisters
- You are my best friend forever
- They will cancel the meeting tomorrow
- We want to buy many various of vegetables and fruits

Verb atau kata kerja, yakni kata yang menggambarkan proses, perbuatan, atau keadaan

- Auxillary (bantu)
- Primary: do, does, did, have, has, had
- Tobe: is, am, are, was, were, been, be, being
- Modal: must, can, could, will, would, shall, should, may, might, ought to, had better
